Miniature Painting Workshops

Hei!
Following you can find all actual dates, info and FAQs on my miniature painting workshops and curriculum: From my famous beginner workshop that teaches the best basics of miniature painting to my advanced workshops with specific in depth themes and group masterclass topics. I am teaching these kind of miniature painting group seminars on weekends only, group masterclasses and private coachings during the week. My expertise in teaching these classes for miniature painters of all levels does not only come from teaching a vast number of seminars worldwide, I also studied to become a teacher for school in Art and Art History. Means, I learned to how to teach with didactical methods and I am able to use educational finesse in my lessons. With an unmatched expertise and experience in teaching many miniature painters I can proudly say: This is what I love the most about my job!

Meanwhile I teach the main number of my workshops in my studio in Augsburg, Germany.
Sometimes I travel to teach, but rarely. My goal is to invite guest teachers to my studio in Augsburg too. Stay tuned for news around more miniature painting workshops via my newsletter.

Workshop & Coaching FAQs

How can I stay updated on all news, dates, and information around your Miniature Painting Workshops?

I strive to provide important updates through my social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Patreon). Signing up for my newsletter is a great tip to ensure you don't miss any information.

What different types of Miniature Painting Workshops do you offer and what are the costs?

Private Coaching:
Two-day coaching with an hourly rate of approximately 20 hours. The specific topic is discussed in advance to address your current personal situation, experiences, fears, and expectations. Over these two days, we get to know each other well and tackle various challenges both technically and mentally. Available in English or German. Price: €950

Group Masterclasses:
Starting in 2024, I offer small group coachings, called Group Masterclasses for three to five people. This format allows for individual attention to each participant's needs. Topics are announced in advance, allowing participants to choose a coaching session based on their preferences and availability. If you plan a group coaching session with five participants, we can also tailor the topic to your preferences and plan out your date. Please check the language (English or German) when booking. Price: €485 per person

Workshops:
Workshops for up to 22 participants on specific themes. Current workshop topics explained in my curriculum.
Workshops are held on weekends and vary between two and half days to one day workshops. 1-day workshop: €150. 2-day workshop: €200+. Workshops are conducted in german language. On rare occasions and if there is enough demand english languaged workshops can be offered.

Can I be put on a waiting list for your teachings?

To ensure a fair chance for everyone to secure a coaching spot, there are no new waiting list positions for Private Coachings until the actual list is fullfilled. For large workshops and group masterclasses, it's first-come, first-served. If you miss a spot, a waiting list will be created based on the date of registration. If someone cancels, the next person on the list will be contacted. Please understand that a prompt response is required, or the spot will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

Are there teaching options via your Patreon?

Through the Patreon platform, I offer individual spots where I discuss projects online with students or provide detailed feedback for efficent learning via email and a small number of spots for video online coaching. Keep an eye on my tiers to know when a spot becomes available. I will post when a spot becomes available to my Patreons. If you already support me on Patreon, heartfelt thanks!

Where do the coachings and workshops take place?

Coachings and workshops are held in my hometown, Augsburg, Germany. At my studio in Derchinger Straße 153. Augsburg is easily accessible by train from all over Germany. For those coming from farther away, the Munich Airport is only 80 km away and well-connected to Augsburg via the Deutsche Bahn railway network or airport shuttle service. My studio can accommodate up to 25 people, but usually my courses are around twenty or less students.

What about overnight accomodation close to the studio?

Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation. If you wish to explore accommodation options in advance, search for hotels around Derchinger Straße, 86165 Augsburg on Google Maps.
Close by Hotel recommendations are based on feedback from my students: Eurohotel Friedberg is just around the corner and nice. From my students I only heard good things about Hotel Adler. Augsburg's Quality Hotel is more on the quality side of staying, but also feedback is mixed here in the meantime. Gästehaus Kastl is close by and easy to reach by car, but more on the countryside of life. Hotel Lukas is ultra close to the studio, but feedback was mixed from weird to strange here.

How can I handle meals during the workshop or coaching?

I provide small snacks during coaching and workshops. There are bakeries, pizzerias, and various fast-food restaurants near my studio. If you have the energy after an evening workshop, you can explore Augsburg's city center for a culinary experience. Furthermore, I have a large refrigerator in the studio where you are welcome to store your snacks. Coffee, Water and Tea is available in my studio with an affordable flat rate of €5, allowing you to drink as much as you want.  Additionally, Augsburg's tap water is known for its excellent quality, so feel free to refill your water bottle as needed. Usually, food plans will be discussed individually.

I am looking for a carpool for a group workshop. How can we organize this?

Due to privacy reasons, communication among participants has worked well in the past through the workshop announcement posts on Instagram.

Teach and Travel FAQs

Do you travel to teach elsewhere in the world?

I did, yes. For almost ten years I was teaching and travelling with workshops worldwide. Unfortanetely I am not able to do this as often as I want or others want me to. I encountered health issues from travelling that much and healed from a burnout. Therefor I made the decision to only travel for work not more than twice a year.

I am planning a workshop in my city, abroad, or on a submarine and would like Roman as a teacher. What options are available?

While I used to travel extensively from city to city and country to country, I now try to limit travel to a few special projects each year due to the strain of constant travel on my home and important structures. If you want to share your idea, please email me with key details such as timeframe, number of participants, location, etc.

I want Roman as a judge for a competition or special guest at our show. How do I proceed?

Please contact me via email with details about the show, competition, etc., along with your general expectations and your possible assumption of costs. I will get back to you.
